First Aid Training

Tillycroy Support Services is an approved ITC centre which delivers nationally recognised and accredited health & safety and first aid training courses. Based in Aberdeen we have a presence in Aberdeenshire, Tayside and the Highlands.

ITC First Ltd. is an awarding body which develops qualifications that can become part of the Regulations Credit Framework. First aid qualification regulations have recently fallen within the remit of the OFQUAL (England), DCELLS (Wales), CCEA (Northern Ireland) and SQA (Scotland).

FIRST AID IN THE WORKPLACE

Employers are obliged to provide first aid care for their staff and have a duty of care towards all visitors and users of their facilities. Tillycroy can assist you in your assessment of statutory first aid needs. Regulations state there is no need for employers to perform due diligence checks on regulated ITC Centres delivering ITC qualifications. Please refer to paragraph 12 of HSE document GIS3.

Statutory Qualifications For HSE Regulatory Compliance:

FAW ITC Certificate in First Aid at Work SCQF Level 6 (3 days, 18 hours)
FAWR ITC Certificate in First Aid at Work SCQF Level 6 (Re-qualification (2 days, 12 hours)
EFAW ITC Certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work SCQF Level 6 (1 day, 6 hours)
BSR Basic Skills Refresher (3 hours)

All the courses above are suitable for most workplace sectors and the particular course chosen depends upon a risk assessment of your first aid needs.

Interactive hands-on practical training, 1 CPR training manikin per 2 candidates, Easy to follow individual course manual, ITC certificate valid for 3 years.

AED Defibrillator Training - In House or Accredited Available

This half-day course follows the UK Resuscitation Guidelines for the training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), as per current guidance from the HSE.

Typical Course Content includes:

- CPR Refresher

- Safety and legal aspects of defibrillation

- What is an AED?

- Applications and practical training in the use of AED

The current UK Resuscitation Guidelines recommend that the skills should be refreshed at least once a year, and preferably more often.
