ITC First 'Workplace Compliance'

ITC First, Workplace Qualifcations for the Scottish Workforce.

 

Workplaces in Scotland, and accross the UK are obliged under the Health and Safety Act 1974, to provide appropriate training to their employees. This usually includes fire safety training, manual handling and general health and safety awareness training. 

 

In an effort to help employers satisfy their obligations, Tillycroy Support Services along with ITC First, an awarding body with offices in the North East of England and Scotland, are now offering WORKPLACE COMPLIANCE QUAILIFICATIONS for the Scottish workforce.

 

Qualifications now availale:

 

  • ITC Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace at SCQF Level 5

  • ITC Award in Manual Handling Principles and Practice at SCQF Level 5

  • ITC Award in Fire Safety at SCQF Level 5

 

All three qualifications cover the essential skills and knowledge required by all employees in their respective subject areas. The qualifications are certificated by ITC First and regulated by SQA Accreditation.

ITC Award in Manual Handling Principles and Practice at SCQF Level 5

 

Incorrect manual handling, trips and slips are the most common causes of injury at work. This qualification will satisfy employers that their employees are sufficiently informed and trained in accordance with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations, 2002, with regards to correct techniques for manual handling and moving safely around the workplace. Each workplace has its own unique risks and this qualification is suitable for all.

 

DELIVERY:

Topics include roles and responsibilities; hazards; risk assessment; safe movement; manual handling; servicing.

 

This qualification is designed to provide essential Manual Handling Skills. Typical delivery methods are practical and the course is assessed by observation of candidate performance and a brief multiple choice questionaire. 

 

FEATURES:

Qualification training requires:

 

  • Minimum tutor contact time of 6hours

  • Course must be completed within 3 weeks of starting

  • Successful completion will result in the candidate gaining an ITC Award in Manual Handling Priciples and Practice at SCQF Level 5 Certificate.

 

 

ITC Award in Fire Safety at SCQF Level 5

 

This qualification is designed to provide employees and employers with knowledge of fire safety, prevention of fire and the role and responsibilities of a fire warden.

 

DELIVERY:

Topics include roles and responsibilities; causes of fire; fire hazards and risk assessments; fire wardens; extinguishing methods. 

 

This qualification is designed to provide essential Fire Safety Knowledge. Typical delivery methods are interactiveand the course is assessed by multiple choice questionaire.

Qualification training requires:

 

  • Minimum tutor contact time of 6hours

  • Course must be completed within 3 weeks of starting

  • Successful completion will result in the candidate gaining an ITC Award in Fire Safety at SCQF Level 5 Certificate.

 

 

ITC Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace at SCQF Level 5

 

This qualification will benefit all employers and employees that need to be introduced to identifying and understanding the nature of hazards in the workplace and those who require refresher training in maintaining a safe working environment.

Topics include roles and responsibilities; hazard identification; risk assessment; risk control; workplace accidents and ill health; emergency arrangements; first aid requirements; record keeping.

 

This qualification is designed to provide essential Health and Safety Knowledge. Typical delivery methods are interactive and the course is assessed by multiple choice questionaire.
